First off I would like to say sorry that I haven’t been able to post this sooner. The internet here is different than at home, here you pay for megabytes instead of the speed and apparently having fifteen people using the internet and uploading pictures really eats through the megabytes, who knew? Anyways, I arrived in New Zealand on Saturday, which was actually Friday back in the states. The plane ride here was about twelve hours long and I didn’t really sleep, I was pretty nervous actually, but I don’t know if it was because of that or not that I wasn’t able to sleep. When I arrived at around four in the morning I sat down and waited, my ride wasn’t coming until two in the afternoon. Thankfully I didn’t have to wait the entire time by myself, I ended up meeting about half of the people that were going to Oak Ridge with me by the time I was half way done with the waiting for our ride. There are so many Canadians on my DTS that it’s kinda crazy, eh? Eh is just about every other word that I hear, not kidding at all. But it’s not too bad eh?
So the past few days here on the base have been amazing. Each one has been very different but different in a good way. I will try to explain as much as I can about them but I don’t know how well that is actually going to work out. The second day here everyone went to a beautiful waterfall and we were able to jump off of it into some freezing water, it was so much fun and that was only the second day, I have so many more to go. I will be putting up pictures as soon as I can but because of the internet I'm not sure on how soon that will be. There's so much that God is doing here, it is amazing, but I will talk more about that in a later blog post. I basically just wanted to let everyone know that I have had an amazing time here so far and it has only been a few days. I am so excited for this trip and everything that I will be getting to do. I will try to keep you updated about everything that has been going on down here in New Zealand but for now this will have to do so until my next post: goodbye and God bless.
